Children in Need

On Friday 15th November we all wore bright and light colours to spread happiness, as the theme this year was ‘Making Life Lighter’.

School Council members met in the weeks prior to this to plan what activities we wanted to provide and how we would inform pupils of our plans. As a group we decided we wanted to run fun games for everyone at breaktime on the yard and we definitely wanted a Kahoot quiz in assembly. We also wanted to boost our fundraising efforts so we planned a ‘Design a Pudsey T-shirt’ competition and charged 50p per entry. With the help of Miss Davies we planned and led an assembly about Children in Need and our plans. As the theme was about supporting children by making their lives brighter, including improving mental health, we decided to hold a fun run. Each year group went out and did their laps of the yard, with music and encouragement provided by Year 6 School Council members. On the day the breaktime fun and games were run by Year 5 and 6 School Council - they did an excellent job. Overall we raised a brilliant £376!
