Nominating a Charity
We asked pupils and staff to nominate charities that are important to them.
At our carol service in previous years, we have traditionally supported City Hospice, a local hospice providing support and care to families of terminally ill patients. We also support City Hospice in other ways, particularly through our choir singing at their fundraising event in town during the Christmas period.
This year, in discussions with members of staff, it was decided that School Council should have more of a say as to which charity we chose to support at our annual carol service. Therefore, we created a nomination form and Miss Davies spoke to children and staff in assembly to explain the process.
Once all the nomination forms had been collected in, a panel of School Council members, Miss Davies and Mrs Morgan, sat down and discussed the nominated charities. After lots of thoughtful discussion, we eventually agreed that we would like to support a local charity that has directly supported some of our pupils.
We decided our nominated charity for the carol service 2024 is...
Noah's Ark Children's Hospital
